Blue Planet is an industry aggregator that is developing and end to end sustainable waste management platform by acquiring different technologies to upcycle and recycle waste. Currently, the company has technologies to process plastic, organic, electronic, industrial and construction waste along with technologies to clear out existing landfills through a bio-mining solution.
Blue Planet Environmental Solutions Pte. Ltd. (BPES) is a pan-Asian company driving regional sustainability through technologically enhanced and IP based end-to-end integrated solutions. The company is headquartered in Singapore with regional offices in Vietnam, India, Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
Blue Planet’s solutions range from waste collection to segregation, transportation, and processing of all types of discarded materials including plastic, food and electronic waste. Blue Planet aims to move beyond traditional waste management systems and be recognised as an industry leader in sustainable and socially inclusive solutions.
Following is a brief description of each entity:
- Rudra Blue-Planet Environmental Solution India Ltd (Plastic waste): The Blue Planet technology is based on pyrolysis which is a cost-effective method to process low- grade plastic waste into high-energy by-products. Pyrolysis thermally degrades the plastic component to produce oil and synthetic gas.
- Yasasu Environmental Management Solutions (Organic waste): Blue Planet provides state of the art, compact, pre-fabricated plug and play biogas plant for universal organic waste. The construction and structure of the unit enables a quick, uncomplicated installation at various locations such as industrial canteens, housing societies, condominiums, hotels, hawker centres and agricultural farms.
- Xeon Waste Managers (EnergyBin – Organic waste): The compact unit, called EnergyBin, processes segregated organic waste including food scraps, garden clippings, vegetable peel and organic sludge on site, making it an ideal solution for urban, semi-urban and rural areas.
- Smart Creative Technologies (E-waste): With the aim to recover high-value materials from electronic waste components, Liverpool-headquartered Smart Creative Technologies has developed a proprietary, innovative method to extract resources that have traditionally been lost in inefficient, inherently toxic and outdated processing methods.
- Virtus Concrete Solutions Ltd. (Construction waste): Virtus Concrete’s key offering are sustainable concrete blocks called Blockwalls, manufactured from 87 per cent recycled materials comprising mainly low-value inert waste materials. The blocks are assembled to build structures instantaneously without the need of expensive joining techniques or intensive labour hours. They can be used on any number of construction projects including civil engineering, flood defence, security and construction.
- GlobeCycle Group (Industrial Waste): Globecycle is a waste management company with fully integrated facilities to handle and process industrial waste. Globecycle is a major player in Malaysia for collection, segregation and recycling of general and scheduled waste including plastic scrap, electronic waste, ferrous and non-ferrous metal, solder dross, oil residue and others.
- Zigma Global Environ Solutions (Landfill remediation): Zigma specialises in landfill mining and full reclamation of land which is contaminated with legacy waste and suffers from environmental pollution and degradation. Founded in 2015, the company provides a sustainable solution involving multi-step segregation, treatment and recycling to clear landfills of deposited refuse.
